The flies on this page are suitable for catching fish worldwide. There is a mixture of Salt and Freshwater patterns.

Key food items are the models for most of the flies. Some are out and out lures!

In the main tied on High Carbon Black Nickel Carp/Lure hooks and Low Water Salmon (LW) hooks.

These are more than strong enough for any fish up to 10lbs.

Bonefish and Tarpon flies are tied on extra strong hooks. If what you need is not listed - just ask

 

1/Ghost Prawns

Tied to imitate a wide range of prawny type creatures looks better in the water than dry

World Chaineye Elvers

These represent all manner of slimline fish and eels. Weighted with chaineyes and the minimum of materials ( non water absorbing) they are essential flies to have. Tied in different colours. As a rule the lighter shades work better over sand, the olive/brown tyings better over weed. However the fish do not always know this! Tied on Black Nickel Carp hooks. If you need other sizes just ask.

Palmered Sculpin

These are not weighted  flies. The hackle bodies mean they can be fished deep (on fast sink lines)

without snagging. They have more 'life' in them then some imitations. Also useful surface lures.

King Rat

This outsize fly can be cast with heavy fly tackle or spinning kit. More realistic lures are available but they tend to imitate dead rats. This one looks alive when retrieved. The fly includes two single hooks and an articulated joint.

Try this in any sandy esturary. Weighted with chaineyes to fish on the bottom, consider using a fast sink line and short 3ft leader to bounce it acroos the sand bars.
