DOUBLE HOOK SALMON FLIES

Tied on light wire double hooks all these flies can be cast with 10/11ft wetfly rods matched with AFTM DT5/6 floating or intermediate lines. On Highland & Islands spate rivers this is the sort of tackle to use rather than big river heavy line outfits. Having said that these flies will work on larger rivers and are well worth a try when heavy tackle large fly tactics fail, the light wire hooks are not really suited for sunk line work.

More useful on fast water on the river they can also be handy in a wave on the loch.
